Safety Reps Workers Comp Fact Sheets - Draft Work Cover Fact Sheet

The Draft Fact Sheet provides information to assist contractors to determine when they should check that their subcontractors have the proper workers compensation insurance and a checklist describing the steps involved in carrying out these checks. The Fact Sheet also explains contractor responsibilities and outlines the circumstances under which WorkCover may take action to recover unpaid subcontractor premiums from a principal contractor.

To help ensure that the Fact Sheet provides practical support and guidance WorkCover is calling for suggestions on improvements or clarifications by close of business Friday 22 August. Comment should be forwarded by email to peter.marshall@workcover.nsw.gov.au.
