Officials Codes of Practice - Amenity tree industry Codes of Practice

This may be cited as the Code of Practice For The Amenity Tree Industry. This code provides practical guidance on safety requirements for the amenity tree industry. It is intended as a guide to the public and private sectors in meeting their requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1983. It is not intended to be a training manual for the amenity tree industry. This code applies to the amenity tree industry for pruning, trimming, repairing, maintaining, transplanting and removing trees and for wood chipping, stump grinding and for equipment used in such operations. This code does not apply to commercial forestry. This code commences on 1st August 1998. This is an industry code of practice approved by the Minister for Industrial Relations in accordance with section 44A of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1983. It will be reviewed within five years of its commencement.
