Safety Reps Conference On For 2004

The third annual UnionSafe NSW Safety Delegates Conference has been set down for the 29th of October at Parramatta’s Riverside Theatre.

The conference, which has become a highlight of the Occupational Health and Safety calendar, will feature NSW Industrial Relations Minister, John Della-Bosca, as well as WorkCover CEO John Blackwall.

This valuable and important conference is a great opportunity for safety representatives and OH&S committees to meet with other representatives and hear from experts in the field to gain an insight into making workplaces safer.

The conference will also be recognising those who have made outstanding achievements in workplace safety, as well as awarding the Brian Miller Lifetime Achievement and the Frank Belan Community Awards, both honouring the long time union and safety campaigners.

This year the Labor Council is offering prizes to the winners of safety awards to recognise the contribution of grass roots safety activists.

Nominations are now open for the Outstanding Achievement Awards as well as the Brian Miller Lifetime Achievement Award and the Frank Belan Community Award. Unions are encouraged to nominate their leading safety representatives and committees for the awards to recognise their important contribution to workplace safety.
