FAQs

Question

I work for a security firm, part of my duties were to walk down the fire stair and inspect all the exits, after 4 months I have now discovered I have a cartilage injury in my right knee. The doctors say that this was a pre existing injury that was exacerbated by the job. What are my rights as to a workers compensation claim?

Answer

Every State has its own Workers Compensation Laws. Under the NSW workers compensation Act you would be covered as it would be an aggravation of a pre-existing condition.

Your accident happened in Queensland and therefore would be covered under their Workers Compensation Act.

I suggest that you contact The Queensland Council of Trade Unions on 07 3846 2468 for further information.
