Question

Am I obliged to advise the insurance company about a treating doctor regarding return to work?

Answer

Yes, the insurance companies, under legislation, require workers to nominate one treating doctor for the purposes of a Return to Work Plan. The choice of the treating doctor is yours. However, if a worker does not nominate their own treating doctor, the insurance company may try to nominate a doctor for you.

It is recommended that you notify the insurance company of your nominated treating doctor.

In the event that you require information about your nominated treated doctor, please contact your union.
