Question

Are there any restrictions in terms of being covered by workers compensation for a work related injury?

Answer

Yes there are, the law actually stipulates that work must be a substantial contributing factor for any injury that occurs. The unions employ specialist advisors, workers compensation officers and often legal officers, who will provide you with advice in relation to whether your injury would meet the test for a substantial contributing factor. Always follow a workers compensation claim with your union rep at work, or your union organiser.
